Who we are
Why Does Evil Exist? (https://whydoesevilexist.com) is an independent project created by Mark Bishop. It is not affiliated with any church, denomination, or organization. This page explains what information the site collects and how it is used.
Information we collect
You can read everything on this site without creating an account or giving us any personal information.
If you send a question, leave a comment, or take part in discussions (as these features open), we collect what you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, and message. Your IP address and browser information may also be recorded to help prevent spam and abuse. We use this only to run the site, reply to you, and possibly answer your question in a future article or video. Questions used publicly will not include your email address.
Cookies
When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject cookies by category. Necessary cookies, such as the one that remembers your cookie choice and those used for secure logins, are always active and do not store personal data. Other categories are only used if you allow them, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie icon on the page.
The site does not currently run advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, this page and the cookie banner will be updated first.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages may include embedded content such as videos. Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you had visited that website directly, and those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content according to their own privacy policies.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only with the services needed to run the site, such as our web host and security tools, or when required by law.
How long we keep your data
Questions, comments, and their related information are kept for as long as they are useful to the site, or until you ask us to remove them. Site backups are kept for a limited time for recovery purposes.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. We will honor these requests except where we must keep information for legal or security reasons.
Security
The site uses HTTPS encryption, login protection, and regular backups to help keep information safe. No website can guarantee perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site grows. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
